Executive Director
Physicians for Social Responsibility -
Los Angeles

MARTHA DINA ARGUELLO

For nearly five decades, Martha Arguello has been rooted in Los Angeles’s social justice movements, starting as a youth organizer and growing into a dedicated advocate, health educator, and coalition builder. She joined Physicians for Social Responsibility–Los Angeles (PSR-LA) in 1999 as a health education coordinator and has served as Executive Director since 2007.

Martha co-chairs Standing Together Against Neighborhood Drilling (STAND-LA) and chairs Californians for a Healthy and Green Economy (CHANGE). She founded the Leap LA Coalition, which helped establish the City of Los Angeles’s Climate Emergency Mobilization Office (CEMO). She currently serves as Co-Chair of the California Air Resources Board’s AB 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee, helping shape California’s climate policy through a justice lens.

Over her 26 years at PSR-LA, Martha has worked to bring together the trusted voices of health professionals and frontline communities to fight for climate justice, environmental health, nuclear abolition, and a just transition to a care-based economy.

In her spare time, she loves classic films, aquafitness, costumes, fashion, and hanging out with her family and cats.
