It was wonderful to be in Detroit on June 10 for the Clean Economy and Community Impact Summit. Collectrify was honored to be a part of this important event and join the From Investment to Impact: Bringing Clean Economy Home session along with Jeff Jones, Executive Director of Hope Village Revitalization (HVR), and Ike Irby, Former Chief Climate Advisor to Vice President Harris.
Collectrify supports the leadership of Hope Village Revitalization as they work to make housing in the Hope Village neighborhood healthy and affordable through energy efficiency and equitable building electrification.
The focus of the Summit yesterday was to highlight the impact of the investments made through the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and beyond. Hope Village received a BuildingsUp prize from the U.S. Department of Energy. The prize included capacity building funding for HVR and its partners in the Detroit Upgrade Network as part of their vision to perform neighborhood wide residential energy efficiency and electrification upgrades.
Collectrify and HVR work in partnership with Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition, We Want Green Too!, Soulardarity, and Polar Bear Sustainable Energy Cooperative. It was great to be joined by founding Collectrify Governance Assembly members Michelle Martinez and current member Ryan Strode.
