We are excited to welcome Audree Gousse, Black Girl Environmentalist Hazel M. Johnson Fellow to Collectrify for summer 2026.

Named after Hazel M. Johnson, the Mother of Environmental Justice, this fellowship honors her legacy by supporting the next generation of Black climate leaders through resourced, community-centered opportunity. The Hazel M. Johnson Fellowship is the first and only climate internship pipeline created for and by Gen Z, increasing access to climate careers for early-career Black women and gender-expansive environmentalists. Hazel M. Johnson fellows come from diverse backgrounds of studies and education and desire to pursue a career in the environmental sector.

This summer Collectrify will support Audree’s learning as a new climate leader. Audree Gousse is a recent graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Environmental Policy, a minor in Sustainability, and a certificate in Environmental Geomatics. She is passionate about environmental justice, believing that we cannot reach our climate goals without leveling the playing field by addressing the intersectionality of climate vulnerabilities. She has taken this belief into her work with the Rutgers Office of Climate Action as a Sustainability Ambassador, using education and outreach to address gaps in the University's Climate Initiatives. Her geomatics certificate also taught her to think spatially when tackling environmental issues, sparking a love for planning and design. She is excited to enhance her skills in research, science communication, outreach, and data analysis as a 2026 Collectrify Fellow.

Join us in welcoming Audree Gousse!
